Big Al’s musical fundraiser for NHS staff

A Coleraine singer and DJ who raised just over £3,000 for the NHS has made a presentation to staff at Coleraine’s Causeway Hospital.

Alan McKane held the fundraiser in March and sang for two and a half hours during a Facebook Live event. As well as 1,400 viewers, the event was also witnessed by many others via Facebook Watch Parties. There were messages of support from all over the world including Australia, Canada, USA, the Dominican Republic, England and Scotland.
Alan said: “After consulting with frontline NHS staff it was agreed that they required compression socks. I sourced the items from a company in Scotland - Trtl. They very kindly gave me discount on the full price of the socks and agreed to pay the shipping costs. So this week, the NHS staff were presented with them on Thursday afternoon at Causeway Hospital.
“I and my wife Petra thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the kind donations and your support then, now and in the future and to the wonderful NHS staff we thank you for your service. “
