Fun day

The Bushmills, Causeway and Dunseverick Community Associations are having their first joint Fun Day on 24 September 2011 at Innisfree Farm, Causeway from 2pm - 8pm.

Please mark this on your calendars and plan to attend as there will be music, dancing, lots to see and do and fun for all the family.There is also stall space still available and also if anyone would like to particapate or have any ideas for events please contact Jacqui McVicker on 07873459260.

Doggie portrait

BARK dogs’ rehoming centre is running a pet portrait competition in September to raise funds.

In association with Jollyes Superstore in Coleraine, the competition will run on Saturday and Sunday, September 10th and 11th.

The event will run from 10am - 5pm on Saturday and from 1pm - 5pm on Sunday. You can come along and have your dog’s picture taken by a professional photographer.

All photos will be entered into a competition to appear on BARK’s Christmas card.

In addition to this, all dogs rehomed from BARK will be included in the 2012 calendar.

Entry fee for the pet portrait is just £5 per photo. Additional prints will cost extra. All proceeds to BARK.

Finvoy rally

FINVOY Vintage Rally and Fun Day is being held on Saturday, September 24 from 11am to 4pm.

On display will be motorbikes, ars, tractors, lorries and stationary engines. There will also be line dancing, a car boot sale, hot food plus lots more stalls.

The field has been kindly donated by the Rea Family, Finvoy and the Hall kindly donated by the Finvoy Presbyterian Committee. Proceeds are in aid of Love Your Lungs, Breath Easy Causeway.

Piping classes

The Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster Scots Society is pleased to announce that Piping and Pipe drumming tuition classes start again on Monday 12th September in the Ullans Centre from 7pm to 9pm.

New beginners are very welcome to attend, regardless of age or ability and the tuition is provided by world class musicians, both of whom have received many awards and are used by the Ulster Scots Agency in schools and at events during the year.

All Tutors employed by the Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster Scots Society have been Access NI checked and approved. Anyone who would like more information on the classes, please contact the Ullans Centre on 028 276 68897.

Dunaghy Weekly

Dunaghy Flute Band held their weekly lotto recently.

The numbers drawn on Friday, September 2 were 22, 30 and 35. There was one winner of £1000.00 jackpot - Jonathan Lynch, Ballymoney. Next weeks jackpot will be £75.00.
