The sessions, featuring local musicians, bands, writers and spoken word artists, will be streamed via Facebook Live via Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre and Flowerfield Arts Centre online pages.

Although both facilities are temporarily closed, the Arts Service team is passionate about maintaining its activities in an online format, ensuring that audiences can still enjoy their positive benefits.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Alderman Mark Fielding said: “Music, literature and performances have always been a big part of our Arts programme and these live virtual concerts and readings will allow our patrons to watch and listen at home until we are open again. We hope that this will allow us to maintain a connection with the local community and promote local artists to a wide online audience.”

The Northern Lights virtual sessions will begin with Causeway Coast and Glens born and bred musician, Ben Robinson of Sullivan and Gold. He will perform an acoustic set streamed via Facebook Live from his home on Friday, July 3. To view the concert simply log in to the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre Facebook page (@roevalleyarts), from 8:30pm on July 3.

Any local musicians, bands, writers or verbal artists who would be interested in taking part in the Northern Lights Performance Sessions can contact [email protected] or [email protected] for further information.
