Town Hall Heritage Tour

EUROPEAN Heritage Open Days offer a great opportunity to view buildings that are usually not open to the public.

To celebrate EHOD in 2012, Mid-Antrim Museum will give a guided tour of Ballymena Town Hall on Saturday, September 8.

The building was opened in 1928 and has many distinctive and beautiful features and the tour will give exclusive access to the Mayor’s Parlour and Council Chamber. The prestigious Mayor’s Parlour in which the borough’s First Citizen receives many visitors from around the world contains many interesting artefacts.

The tour, which will also include a behind the scenes look at Mid-Antrim Museum’s collection store, starts at 2.30pm and will be led by a member of the museum staff.
