60 new IT jobs are announced by Kainos

A LEADING IT firm is to create 60 high quality jobs in Londonderry.

The move by Kainos, the IT solutions company, has been welcomed by Derry City Council.

Mayor Alderman Maurice Devenney said the jobs announcement was very positive news for the city and was evidence of the good work that is being done to attract investment in the city for its talented and well educated workforce.

Derry City Council Chief Executive Sharon O’Connor said she was delighted to see Kainos setting up office at Timberquay, next to the Council Offices on the Strand Road.

“This is fantastic news for the city and a great boost to the local economy. It’s great to have a company of this quality and expertise investing in our city and shows there is real confidence in Derry~Londonderry as the city continues to lead in Europe in terms of telecoms infrastructure developments.

“With its superfast broadband and the fastest transatlantic connections, the city is in a prime position to attract further investment and job creation as we take the lead in relation to ICT innovation for the next decade. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Kainos as they set up office in our city and wish them every success.”

Kainos specialises in the deployment and integration of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Electronic Document Management (EDM), Workflow and Collaborative technologies.
