A culinary evening with Paula McIntyre

Food lovers in the borough are being invited to an evening of culinary delights with local chef and celebrity Paula McIntyre next month.

Having trained in Culinary Arts at the prestigious Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island, USA, Paula McIntyre returned to the UK in 1993 to open her own restaurant in Manchester.

Returning to Northern Ireland in 1998, Paula worked as Head Chef in several establishments and appeared as a guest chef on “Ready, Steady, Cook” beating Paul Rankin in her second appearance.

Paula lectures in catering on the Professional Cookery programme in Northern Regional College. She has had her own column and has also been contributing to various papers in Northern Ireland.

Paula will be taking centre stage at Garvagh Community Building, 85 Main Street, Garvagh, on n Wednesday, November 11, from 7pm.

Visitors will get the chance to meet Paula and enjoy some insights into her talents in the kitchen.

Paula has just written her second cookery book following on from the success of her first book “A Kitchen Year” which was published in 2008 by Gill and McMillan It’s hoped Paula’s new book will be available for sale that evening.

As usual Paula has been busy all over the country attending cookery events and also taking part in demonstrations. There will be plenty of opportunities during her Garvagh appearance to get advice from her on recipes, expert tips, healthy eating and the best ingredients.
