£6k for Whitehead Over 50s Club

A Whitehead group is to develop cross-community activities after receiving a funding fillip.

Whitehead Glasgow Rangers Over 50s Club is to receive £6033 for social events and activities to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The support is part of the first Big Lottery Fund Awards For All announcement of 2016 which will see £673,276 shared between 80 groups in Northern Ireland.

Welcoming the announcement, East Antrim MLA, Alastair Ross said: “It is great to see that Whitehead Glasgow Rangers over 50s Club are to receive £6033 for social events and activities to celebrate the group’s 30th Anniversary. This will help to get people involved and to come together in various cross-community activities and events.”

The DUP representative added if any group feels they would like to apply for a grant ranging between £500 and £10,000 for a project they can find all the application details at www.biglotteryfund.org

Awards for All funds projects that help people bring about positive change in their lives, improve health, develop skills and create safer communities.
