Artistic pupils win top Assembly awards
A staggering 2,500 entries were received and among the winners were Ryan Markwell from Moira Primary School along with Christopher Maginn and Kaitlin McCourt, both from Fort Hill Integrated Primary School.
The competition called on children to submit an original drawing or painting based on one of two themes: ‘Remembering the Titanic’ or ‘My World’.

Hide AdSpeaking after the Awards ceremony the Principal Deputy Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly Francie Molloy said: “The standard and the level of skill and creativity produced by our local pupils has been beyond compare and certainly made the job of the judging panel very difficult indeed.”
The winning artwork will remain on display in the Great Hall at Parliament buildings until Friday 27 April.
