Author launches first book

GM Stevenson’s book, ‘Of love...of loss’, is a collection of short stories and poems.

The author credits her creative writing teacher for encouraging her to get published.

“I was taking a creative writing course at the Island Arts Centre and my teacher Lynda Tavakoi really encouraged me to put my work together and get it published.

“She inspired me and this book is dedicated to her.

“Some of the stories are quite personal while others are a complete work of fiction.”

Representatives from Waterstone’s will be at the launch as the company has agreed to sell the book.

“I am very lucky they have agreed to sell the first of what I hope will be a number of books,” Mrs Stevenson said.

“They won’t all be the same and will have different themes.”

A reception will be held at Clenaghans at 7.30pm while the book launch will commence at 8.30pm and is by invitation only.
