Be vigilant, say police

POLICE in Ballymoney are urging traders to be vigilant to a scam.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “In recent months police have seen a rise in attempts to deceive shopkeepers by way of asking for refunds for goods which it transpires have been lifted from shelves.

“We appeal to shopkeepers to ensure any goods offered for refund have a receipt or if not that there are a variety of checks carried out to ensure the goods have not been stolen. Any genuine customer should have no problem with this.”
