If you see a police swoop in Ballymoney town centre this Friday, with teachers, radio DJs and councillors being lead away in handcuffs - DON’T PANIC!

This Friday 4th December, CAN are holding a Jail and Bail fundraising event at Castlecroft Square, Ballymoney from 10-5pm.

The money raised through this event will go straight towards CAN’s Best Buddies NI Program which supports people with learning disabilities to extend their friendship networks and improve overall emotional well-being through social activity.

Best Buddies is a CAN friendship program (funded by BBC Children in Need) based in the Ballymoney and Causeway area.

At Best Buddies Northern Ireland, they enable people with and without learning disabilities to get together and increase their social opportunities by having a friend and being a friend.

Best Buddies Northern Ireland is part of a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with learning disabilities.

There will be a number of local (and not so local) faces facing punishment for a mass of crimes as well as our very own, home grown Belfast Giant – Andrew Dickson and fellow team mate Adam Keefe.

As there is a hockey match taking place on 4th Andrew and Adam will be serving their sentence from a remote location in Belfast but will need to raise their bail in order to be able to play their match that evening.

Even poor Santa Claus will be doing a stint ‘inside’.

He’s been a bit naughty this year and an arrest warrant has been issued!

He has agreed to come in peacefully and spend a bit of time in our cell in order to pay off his crimes.

However, Santa has a lot to do this month and could really do with an early release.

By donating to CAN Best Buddies event you will help to raise his bail and thus ensure that he’s back on the road (or should we say sky?) in no time. To help release any one of our cell mates just head to CAN’s fundraising page via BT’s mydonate page and select who you’d like to help free before donating!

Also, please call down to Castlecroft between 10am and 5pm on Friday 4th December to join the fun.
