The court heard police searched the defendant’s address, a one bedroom flat, and a cannabis plant was found growing in a bedroom cupboard.

A small amount of herbal cannabis was found along with a quantity of tablets.

The cannabis plant was valued at around £500 while the value of the cannabis was £20.

Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said the drugs were for Rice’s personal use only.

Rice has learned his lesson, added Mr Ingram.

Later in the court bail was set at £100 for appeal against the sentences.
