The team had identified a need in the community for a drop-in facility for young people to come along and feel safe and welcome in a comfortable environment.

There is space to chill and explore issues of concern, if needed.

Carrick Connect is open to all young people aged 11-25 years with two sessions on a Saturday: 11-15 years from 4-7pm, and 16-25 years from 8-11pm.

“Carrick Connect also runs an outreach programme which takes us into local schools and youth organisations facilitating bespoke programmes and interaction with young people,” said Tracey McNickle, project coordinator.

“Carrick Connect also do outreach around the town throughout the weekend building up positive relationships with young people. [We] have a counselling service with four fully qualified counsellors dedicated to meeting the needs of the local community.

“Carrick Connect Counselling service currently have spaces available as we have recently expanded our team.”
