Carrick family's '˜golden ticket' to Titanic attraction

Having welcomed over 2.7 million visitors from over 145 countries, being named Europe’s best visitor attraction for groups and being listed in Lonely Planet’s Ultimate Travelist of the world’s most striking locations, Titanic Belfast offered Northern Ireland residents 3,000 complimentary tickets, which were snapped up overnight.

The McDonald family were among those who got ‘golden tickets’ to experience the story of the Titanic, from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through to her construction and launch, to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end, as well as view its three newly refreshed galleries.

Tim Husbands MBE, chief executive of Titanic Belfast, commented, “Although the Titanic lies in 13,000 feet of water, the enduring story still captures minds and hearts throughout the world, including in Northern Ireland. NI Citizens’ Day was living proof of this.”
