Cast from the past reviews old favourites
“The Sound of Music” was on stage once again much to the delight of the past pupils who met for a reunion, and in some cases, to watch their children on stage.
These included Caroline Orr, nee McCallion, whose 15-year-old daughter Cerys was in the chorus.

Other cast members included James Fair, as Captain Von Trapp; Lynn Brennan; Alan McAdoo; Barbara Johnston (Mark); Leigh McKay (Kelly); Michael Lynas; Clare Richmond (Minford); Sue-Ann Malcolmson. Elizabeth Reynolds played the part of the Mother Superior and Jeanette McDaid was the housekeeper.
Caroline said: “There was great camaraderie. We practised after school and all day on Saturday. It was a lot of hard work. There were a lot of scene chamges. It was a lot of work for the backstage crew.
“We had to be confident in what we were doing. It is still my favourite musical.
“When I was young, I just wanted to be on the stage. I had also been in ‘Oklahoma’, the previous year.
And the verdict on “The Sound of Music” 2014: “It was just amazing. It was absolutely wonderful.”
