Charity cheques presented at Inver Area WI meeting
Edna McAllister, chairperson, presented her report on the work of the area committee.
Executive member Joan Arnold brought greetings from headquarters and updated the ladies on the events for 2011/2012.

Hide AdTreasurer Mary Rainey presented the financial statement. The money raised at the Christmas area evening last December was distributed as agreed: £750 to Federation House and cheques for £350 each were handed over to Judith Smyth and Kate Ferguson. Both ladies gave an insight into the way the money will be used and explained their work, Judith as a teacher in Roddensvale School and Kate is a volunteer and secretary of Brainwaves NI, supporting children and adults affected with brain tumours.
Entertainment was provided by Larne Drama Circle, who performed a play reading entitled Lovers by Brian Friel.
Mrs McAllister thanked the drama group for a very enjoyable and amusing play and the church for use of the hall.
After an excellent supper provided by the ladies of Ballycarry, Gleno and Larne new chairperson Jacqueline Moore was introduced.

Hide AdA comprehensive vote of thanks to all who had made the event so successful was given by Mary Rainey from Cairncastle WI. The flowers were supplied by Ballynure WI.
A bouquet of flowers was presented to Lillian Sturdy on the occasion of her 90th birthday.
