Chloe inspires fundraising

AFTER hearing about Ballymoney girl Chloe Richmond's battle with Leukaemia, residents of Bushmills have been coming out in force to support children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent who is currently supporting Chloe and her family.

Saturday 25th September will host two events in the town for the charity. Local man Lenny McKay will be taking on the daunting task of walking from Portrush to Bushmills with a bag of coal on his back, and the Old Mill Inn will be the venue for a disco and karaoke night that evening.

Four year old Chloe was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukaemia on the 20th March 2009 and has been receiving treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital for the last 18 months. During this time the family have been supported by CLIC Sargent, and Chloe's mum Lesley refers to the support from Gillian as 'invaluable'.

Area Fundraising Manager Katie Setterfield said: "Every week in Northern Ireland two more families are diagnosed with cancer. CLIC Sargent relies on events like this to provide families like Chloe's with the care and support they need."

If you would like to sponsor Lenny you can make a donation at the Old Mill Inn, Bushmills. Tickets are also available for the Disco and Karaoke night prices at 5 from the bar.
