Co Tyrone born photographer scoops top award two years running

The awards organised by the Northern Tourist Board and hosted by the BBC’s Country File presenter John Craven, John scooped the award for his breathtaking image of Loughmacrory boathouse.

John, who is originally from Coalisland has been a professional photographer for over fourteen years and teaching photography for the past two years.

Speaking about his love for photography said his aim was to capture the beauty of a lesser –known location such as the Loughmacrory boathouse.

John said he wanted to showcase a different side of the Northern Ireland countryside that very few tourists unless they venture off the beaten path will experience.

The event which celebrates various groups who are working hard to keep Northern Ireland’s coast and inland waterways in great shape ,also recognise the work of both amateur and professional photographers.

To mark his win a delighted John kindly donated his awarding photograph to The Hub Community Centre Cookstown to help to raise funds for the vital services which The Hub provide throughout the community.

The Hub community centre, based on the Burn Road Cookstown allows local people to access drama, art and crafts.
