Latest: Street robbery on Railway Road

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a street robbery on Railway Road in Coleraine on Monday afternoon.

It was reported that shortly before 12.30pm a man, aged in his 20’s, was on his way to the bank with a money bag when he was approached by an unknown male and forced into an alleyway.

He was threatened and forced to hand over the bag which contained a sum of cash. The male is described as being approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a dark jacket and had a scarf covering his face. A second male also believed to be involved is described as being aged in his 30’s and also wearing a dark jacket.

Detective Constable John Boyd is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact CID at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
