Man accused of committing ‘lewd act’ with horse

A SOUTH Derry man is to stand trial accused of behaving in an indecent manner with a horse.

Robert McLaughlin (64), of Sunnyside Drive, Maghera, is alleged to have committed an act of a lewd, obscene and disgusting nature and outraging public decency with the animal on May 17 last year.

McLaughlin, who stood in the dock with the aid of a walking stick, spoke only to confirm that he had no objection to the holding a preliminary enquiry.
