Man charged with making threats to kill

A 22-year-old man has been charged with possessing a firearm and making threats to kill in Lurgan.

He was detained in the town following an incident in the Hill Street area on Saturday shortly before 5.15pm.

A 19-year-old man was threatened but was able to escape uninjured.

The man in his 20s is also accused of assault on police, resisting police, criminal damage and possessing a medicinal product without prescription.

He is expected to appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
