Police appeal following theft

POLICE in Banbridge are appealing for information following a theft in the Main Street area of Scarva on Tuesday night, May 15.

It was reported that a window of a car was smashed and a handbag stolen sometime between 7.30pm and 8.40pm when the car was parked on the street.

Police would wish to take this opportunity to provide motorists with some advice relating to vehicle security. Leaving valuables, such as your handbag, wallet, CD player, laptop, Sat Nav or phone on view in your vehicle is like an open invitation to opportunist thieves. If they see something valuable on view, they will find a way to get it. You only have to leave your vehicle for a short time for a thief to act.
