Detectives in Lisburn are appealing for information after a report of arson in Millbrook Walk last night (Friday).

A police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 10.20pm a house fire was reported in Millbrook Walk. It was reported that a woman in the property had jumped out of the window to escape the blaze, causing leg injuries. This attack had the potential to cause serious harm to both the resident of the property and her neighbours and as such we are investigating the incident as arson with intent to endanger life.

"Fortunately, our colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were able to extinguish the fire before it spread; however significant damage was caused to the front door of the property."We’re continuing with enquiries today to establish a motive for this reckless attack. I'm appealing to anyone who was in Millbrook Walk last night between 10.00pm and 10.20pm who may have seen any suspicious activity to get in touch with us.”

Police can be contacted on 101, quoting reference number 2037 of 21/10/22.
