Deputy First Minister visits Willowbank

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has met with major local employers during a visit to LEDCOM's Willowbank Business Park facility.

Accompanied by East Antrim Sinn Fein MLA Oliver McMullan, the Deputy First Minister took the opportunity to hear a range of views and concerns on issues such as economic development,the social economy and tackling unemployment.

“I’m delighted to visit Larne and East Antrim to engage directly with businesses and organisations who are working hard to provide employment and tackle major issues such as youth unemployment,” Mr McGuinness said.

Representatives from Caterpillar, Terumo BCT, Actavis and the Port of Larne were present along with the Larne Traders’ Forum, Larne Development Forum, AEL, Jobs & Benefits Office and St Killian’s College.

“The Deputy First Minister’s visit helped business and community representatives engage directly with a very senior politician on issues vital to economic and community development in the local area,” said LEDCOM chief executive, Ken Nelson.
