Desperately Seeking Crafty Folk!

CAN Can Recycling are looking to recruit volunteers with experience of refurbishing furniture, woodwork or painting and decorating who would enjoy the challenge of supporting people with learning disabilities in their social enterprise in Ballymoney.

Clare Cushnahan from CAN said “This project supports and enables people with learning disabilities to learn new skills which will help them to gain supported employment. Volunteers spend time with participants sharing their skills and helping us to refurbish and ‘upcycle’ furniture to generate income to keep the organization going in the long term. We are particularly keen on individuals who have a lifetime of skills they would like to share!”

“All of our projects operate on a can do ethos and we aim to provide our members with the best and most appropriate level of support to enable them to reach their full potential.”

“If you are retired, in-between jobs, are looking to get back to work and would like to enhance your CV, or maybe you have a few hours to spare while your children are at school, we would love to hear from you! We can offer our volunteers the chance to be part of a unique organisation, a qualification while they volunteer with us, various social opportunities and we also pay travel and out of pocket expenses”.

For more information, contact Clare Cushnahan, Social Enterprise Manager at CAN Can Recycling, 20 Seymour Street, Ballymoney on 028 2766 7775.
