Dunmurry damp to be tackled
Lagan Valley MLA Brenda Hale, who was approached by residents’ groups who have been lobbying since 2005 for improvements to the flats, said: “While there have been repairs to communal lifts the pressing issue of chronic condensation and damp continues to be a serious concern.”
Mrs Hale and Councillor Margaret Tolerton later met NIHE’s Lisburn district manager Aengus Hannaway, who reportedly agreed to assess the flats and offer those most in need a dehumidifier, the Housing Executive to help with running costs.
