Fake note warning to local traders
Police in Coleraine are appealing for traders and members of the public to be wary of counterfeit notes after a number of fake notes were found circulating in the North Coast area.
Detectives from Coleraine have asked anyone who may have any information about counterfeit notes to contact them at Coleraine on 0845 600 8000.
They have issued the following advice to help traders to identify counterfeit notes and prevent them from being passed: Display clear warning signs stating - ‘Counterfeit currency checks will be carried out and ensure store staff are aware of how to examine notes.
