Festival excitement builds

THE 30th City of Derry Drama Festival, which is currently running until 13th March in the Waterside Theatre is proving to be a tough competition with great performances by the Breffni Players, Crokey Hill Club, Bradan Players, Blackburners Drama Circle and the Lifford Players so far.

However there are still absolute classics to come, such as Our Town, claimed to be the most popular American play ever written, by the Rosemary Drama Group.

Also showing is a traditional Ulster comedy, Where There’s A Will by Clanabogan Drama Circle, The Field by Newpoint Players and the festival finishes with Theatre 3 Newtownabbey, last years festival winners, who are performing a Pulitzer award winning play rarely seen on the Irish stage Three Tall Women; all of whom are battling it out to be crowned festival champions!
