Festive storiessought for TV

THE producers of a forthcoming documentary for Irish language television station TG4 are asking people from Londonderry for their stories of Christmases gone by.

Do you remember when Christmas Day was the only day in the year when children got treats? Do you remember when Santa brought one toy as opposed to ten? Have you any stories about customs and traditions such as Little Women’s Christmas or the Wren Boys?

Do you have any heartwarming, funny or sad tales of your childhood at Christmas?

If so Waddell Media would love to speak to you. Waddell Media is making a one off documentary Christmas Special, Nollaig in Éirinn Fadó (Christmas in Ireland Long Ago) for TG4 about Christmas in Ireland through the decades from the 1920s to the 1980s.

The producers state: “We are interested in speaking to anyone who has an engaging story to tell about their memories of Christmas as a child. These could also be stories passed on by parents, grandparents or other relatives.

“Also if you have any memorabilia, photographs or old Super 8 footage of childhood Christmases we would love to hear from you.”
