DERRY City Council’s Environmental Health Department is holding a series of advice clinics to inform local food business operators about the new Food Hygiene Rating Scheme that will come into effect next month.

Genevieve McWilliams Environmental Health Officer explained: “The scheme will help consumers choose where to eat out or shop for food by giving them information about the hygiene standards in restaurants, cafés, takeaways, hotels and food shops and will also encourage businesses to improve hygiene standards.”

The advice clinics will be held in Derry City Council offices in the Strand Road from next week - Wednesday, May 25th - 9.00am to 1.00pm, Friday, May 27th - 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, Tuesday, May 31st – 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm and Thursday, June 2 – 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm
