Charlie Fisher, from DTNI, made a presentation to the shadow council on Thursday evening, and requested that the Council should express an interest in acquiring the asset on behalf of the Garvagh stakeholder group (Garvagh High School Development Trust). The request would defer the disposal of the site on the open market. UUP councillor David Harding proposed that council register an interest in the site, this was seconded by Cllr Sam Cole. The proposal was backed unanimously.
