Gold and silver continue to shine for McAfee’s

The top two prices at last weeks sale of Fine Furnishings and Collectibles were a gold cluster ring and a silver presentation cup, reinforcing the demand for both gold and silver, say McAfee Auctioneers.

A very fine 18ct Gold Emerald and Diamond Cluster Ring realised £160

The ring, a very nice diamond and emerald opened at £1000 and very quickly reached £1600 the result of a battle between a room bidder and two telephone bidders.

The presentation cup a lidded two handled Irish cup, made a surprising £1100, again after an active bidding battle between three bidders in the room. Other pieces of solid silver, gold rings and bangles also attracted great interest.

Other prices included double weight £320, Waterford crystal bowls £350, £310 and £210, Moorcroft vase £340, Belleek jardinere £320, Royal Doulton figurine £270, ruby claret jug £260.
