The 20-year-old local man was killed as he competed in the 125cc race.

He was on the third lap of the 125 event, fighting for third position, when his bike crashed into a ditch at the back of the Walderstown course.

Moulds was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, but later died from his injuries.

The former Dromore High School and Lisburn SERC student, had taken on racing professionally in the last few months, and recently enjoyed success in the 125 class at the Skerries races.

Clerk-of-the-course, Sean Bisset, said: “It is a great tragedy and our thoughts at this time are with Mr Moulds’ family.”

The fatality completes a horrific week for road racing, with three competitors having died at last week’s Southern 100 races on the Isle of Man.
