Hostel demolition approved by CC&G Councillors
CCC & G Borough Councillors have voted in favour of an application to demolish an existing accommodation block and the construction of a new one at a hostel in Ballintoy.
The application by Sheep Island View on Main Street was brought before the Planning Committee. Planning Officer Shane Mathers detailed the application which would see the demolition of an existing sub-standard accommodation block and building of a replacement block. All work would comply with modern tourism standards and NITB accommodation ratings. Mr Mathers told council the application was recommended for approval as it was an appropriate use of lands, acceptable in terms of its layout and appearance. Councillors voted in favour.
