Housing project on GAA ground refused

The application was for 96 dwellings, to be situated at the former Ballycastle GAA pitch on Leyland Road, however there were concerns from NI Water that Waste Water Treatment Works are presently not available to serve this proposal.

The Environmental Health Agency also had issues about the proximity of the proposed Temporary Waste Water Sewerage plant to the existing properties at Gortnamaddy Drive.

PLAY AREA IN LOUGHGUILE

At the same meeting, the Causeway Coast and Glens Planning Committee passed the recommendation for a proposed children’s play area at Scally Park, Loughguile.

Permission had been sought to provide a small play park for children in the area up to the age of 6 years old.

It is proposed that the park is constructed with four different types of equipment, including a climbing tower, all aimed at children aged from 18 months up to 6 years old.
