Inspiration from the event originally stemmed from the Health Promotion Officer for the Neighbourhood Renewal area whose job is to work with the communities in this area to identify the needs of its residents in terms of health and address those needs through provision of specific programmes.

The Health Promotion Officer has most recently worked alongside Ballee Community Association to deliver a Cook It programme at the new Ballee Community Centre, has been involved in the delivery of a Men’s Health Event for Men from across the Borough and has been working to deliver Cancer Awareness sessions for men and women in Ballymena South area.

Speaking about the event, Gillian Forrest, Ballymena South Cluster Development Officer says; “We have various guest speakers and lots of information on issues such as mental health awareness, cancer focus, diet and healthy eating and lots more. Our ladies will be treated to pink refreshments and evening tea and enjoy a little pampering on the evening too. The event starts at 7pm Places will be limited so contact a028 25631350 or by e-mail [email protected]
