Jean is re-elected Exorna WI president

Committee members elected at the September meeting were Mrs Pat King, Mrs Ann Pollock, Mrs Elsie Sawyers, Mrs Selena Hutchinson, Mrs Marty Laird, Mrs Anne Lundy, Mrs Hazel Andrews, Mrs Sandra Simpson, Mrs Claire Newens, Mrs Sandra Hall and Mrs Dorinda Kyle.

The election of officers for 2010-2011 was scrutinised by N.I. W.I. Federation Vice-Chairman, Mrs Margery Thompson, assisted by tellers Moira Lees and Francis McCollum.

The ‘birthday girls’ were Mrs Claire Newens, Mrs Rosemary Sinclair, Mrs Joan Coulter and Mrs Hazel Ferris.

Mrs Anne Lundy proposed a vote of thanks to the scrutineers.

The competition winner for the year was Mrs Ann Campbell.

At the outset of the meeting members expressed sympathy to the family and friends of Mrs Margaret Crockett, of Castlerock, who died suddenly on September 5.

Aged 83, Mrs Crockett was an honorary and founder member of Exorna W.I., which was established in 1974.

The meeting concluded with the singing of ‘A Countrywoman’s Song’.
