Local finalists in prestigious industry awards

THREE forecourt and convenience retailers from the local area have made it through to the final of Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Retailer Awards 2012 – the country’s only specialist awards in this sector.

Spar Saintfield Road, Lisburn; Centra Whitemountain, Lisburn and Henderson’s Eurospar, Crumlin are among 44 finalists announced this week and are now set to battle it out at the seventh annual Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer Awards (IFCR) 2012, supported by platinum sponsor PostPoint.

Hosted by TV3’s Sinead Desmond, the industry awards will take place at Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel on Friday, September 7 – where 14 category winners will be revealed before the overall winner is crowned Ireland’s Forecourt Retailer of the Year 2012 in a night of glitz and glamour.

The 450 individual award entries received from throughout Ireland were whittled down to 44 following rigorous judging by mystery shop specialists Spotcheck. Reaching the final of these awards signifies a major achievement for independent retailers, symbol groups and oil companies.

This event aims to help raise industry standards in the forecourt and convenience retailing industry throughout Ireland by recognising excellence and rewarding professionalism in the retail sector.
