Local support for people experiencing depression

LOCAL charity Aware Defeat Depression offer a support group in Coleraine for those experiencing depression.

Depression is a very common and devastating illness which affects an increasing number of people in Northern Ireland, regardless of age, gender, or social background.

People affected by the illness often do not get the help they need either because they do not recognise the symptoms or because they are reluctant to seek help.

The Coleraine support group provides an opportunity to meet with others who have personal experience of the illness so that they can share experiences, support each other and find out more about it.

The meetings are facilitated by local volunteers who have received our training programme. New members are always made to feel very welcome.

There is no need to register – just come along on the evening. A range of literature about depression is also available as well as information on the range of support that Aware Defeat Depression can offer.

The Coleraine group meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month. The meetings begin at 7.30pm and are in the Lodge Hotel.
