Man pleads guilty to having large knife in a public place

A man has pleaded guilty to possessing a large knife in a public place in Portrush, a court has head.

Terence Morgan (50), of Glenmanus Park in the town, committed the offence on October 20 last year at Coleraine Road.

He has also pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to a door lock at a Eurospar on the same date.

He appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court last Monday and his case was adjourned to July for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

No details were outlined to the court but defence solicitor John Murphy said there was “quite an unusual factual background”.
