Meet life’s obstacles with a smile

We may not all have the gift of exhortation

But encouraging we can be,

Our thoughts and words are containers or weapons

And portray discord or victory.

To send thoughts of love towards others

Helps to keep your own spirit in line,

Bearing good fruit comes as a result

Of abiding in the vine.

God has given to us a measure of faith,

A spirit to trust and believe,

You’ll find the pathway of freedom begins
When we decide to look up and receive.

For faith is the anchor of the soul,

Hope keeps us steadfast in times of trial,

Gives us the ability to look beyond ourselves

And meet life’s obstacles with a smile.
