Mounthill concert raises £500

A CHEQUE for £500 was presented to Rev Neil Bingham for the Raloo Presbyterian Church building fund as a result of Mounthill Fair Society’s second annual concert, held in the church hall.

Topping the bill, and celebrating 55 years on the road, was Fiddlin Tom Cameron, no stranger to the people of Raloo, having played on the same site when it was just a wooden hut back in the golden days of the ‘Cameron Clan’ in the early 70s.

Also on the bill was local girl Thomasina Hall, Mervyn Robinson and Country Sound, Bobby Reid, Susan Bates, the Sir Henry Inglesby’s Fife and Drum Corps and compere Wallace Gregg.

There was also a selection of Mounthill Fair photographs “Memories down the Years”, and a “Mounthill Fair Poem” from Raymond Clifford.

All the artistes provided their services free of charge in support of the Society’s 2011 fundraising activities.

Mounthill Fair Society would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported the event; the artists, local community, Raloo Presbyterian Church and the ladies committee for providing a delicious supper.
