Navy nurse attends Cenotaph Service

Leading Naval Nurse Lynsey Rodgers, 23, from Larne, has said she is honoured to be training to be part of the Royal Navy contingent at the Cenotaph Service on Remembrance Sunday.

Having joined the Royal Navy in June, 2007 Lynsey - whose parents Lesley and William live in Larne - is currently serving at the Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit, Derriford. She worked at the Defence School of Health Care for students for three years.

Lynsey said: “I am working on Stonehouse Ward in Derriford Hospital looking after post-op patients, other service personnel and civilians.”

She said of this honour “It is my privilege to participate in the November ceremonies, remembering those who lost their lives, injured personnel and those currently serving.”
