New councillor for Larne’s Coast Road

Mrs Smyth said: “I am absolutely delighted to join Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.

“For many years I have been working closely alongside Sammy Wilson MP to deliver on local issues for people, and I believe this experience will help me fulfil my role as an Elected Member.

“I am honoured to serve the people of the Coast Road and the wider Mid and East Antrim Borough and I am already beginning to move forward with some of the local issues on behalf of the people.”

Mr Lyons stated: “I have no doubt that she will do an excellent job on behalf of the people of the Coast Road and I wish her every success.”

MP Sammy Wilson added that Mrs Smyth had “wide experience of dealing with constituents’ problems” and a “sound knowledge of issues facing the area.” He said she would be a “great asset” to the council.
