New police chief for ‘H’ District

He succeeds Nigel Goddard, who has taken up a new post as Operations Superintendent in Belfast.

H District comprises the Ballymena, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Moyle and Larne areas.

A police officer with 14 years experience, Chief Superintendent Noble previously served as Operations Manager and Deputy District Commander for B District (South, East and Central Belfast).

The new District Commander said he was absolutely delighted to take on the new challenge and wants to build on the successes of Superintendent Goddard and his team.

He said: “I look forward to working with my colleagues, and the community, to provide a personal, professional and protective policing service, which is visible and responsive to the issues which are important to local people.

“I do not underestimate the challenges in policing such a large District, but I know there is a foundation of good partnership working already in existence, upon which we can build, and which I believe is the key to preventing and reducing much of the harm which affects all our communities.

“My predecessor Superintendent Nigel Goddard was firmly committed to ensuring the safety of the people of H District and I would like to take this opportunity to wish him well in his new role. I want to assure local residents of my own commitment to continuing the good work that already exists and build the confidence of the local community in policing.

“As district commander, I will be making the best possible use of our resources to maximise the visibility and effectiveness of all our officers in a determined effort to reduce the level of crime, and to increase public confidence in policing,” Chief Superintendent Noble concluded.
