NSPCC input to mentoring at Ulidia Integrated College

Young people in Carrickfergus have been developing their mentoring skills with the help of a leading children’s charity.

Irene McCreedy from the NSPCC conducted Ulidia Integrated College’s ‘Connect and Build’ mentor programme training day.

The session included listening activities, group discussions, mini presentations, communication activities, fun games and decision making to equip the mentors in helping their mentees over the next two years.

Lauren McDowell, lead mentor at Ulidia, stated: “It is always a great pleasure for us to welcome Irene back to the college, this year we celebrate our fourteenth year of our mentoring programme at Ulidia.

“Personally, I would like to wish all the mentors the best of luck with their mentees and I am confident that they will do a great job.”
