Air views at Consumer Council Lisburn event

AS a regular user of the Lisburn City bus service, I can empathise with the experiences of Alan Whitby (article 4 November).

Being in my late eighties, I rely on the service to take me to and from the city centre to the Antrim Road. Very often the service is either too early or too late, doesn’t stop and frequently does not display the destination signs.

When I have pointed these issues out to Translink officials at both the Lisburn and Belfast depots, I have found the management to be very responsive and apologetic.

However, that having been said, these things are happening much too often. Can I therefore encourage all regular users on the City bus service to attend the Consumer Council event which is being held at Lisburn Bus station on Friday December 2 from 08.30am to 4.00pm during which passengers will be able to air their views on the service and receive advice and information on their rights as passengers. It can only help to improve the service all round.
