Playgroup allocated 41 pre-school places

THE staff and committee of Ballymoney and District Community playgroup, based at Trinity Church hall are delighted to have been allocated 41 pre-school places from the Education Board for the year beginning September 2011.

This enables the playgroup to help to accommodate the high demand by parents in the Ballymoney area for pre-school places for their children.

The playgroup have been offered 25 pre-school places for the morning session and 16 pre-school places for the afternoon sessions.

The playgroup were anticipating a high demand on places this year due to the high birth rates and the staff worked extremely hard to secure these extra places and are dleighted to be able to offer places to the majority of children who requested this playgroup as their first preference.

Th eplaygroup is very grateful to the local community for their continued supprt and also the minister, Kirk Session and Committee of Trinity Presbyterian Church for the kind use of their facilities.

The playgroup has been running successfully for over 30 years and in 2008 received a very good grade in their inspection by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland.

From September the group will operate five mornings from 9am to 11.30am and also five afternoons from 1pm to 3.30pm.

The group follow the curriculum as laid out by the Education Board covering the six areas of learning. They aim to offer a safe, caring and stimulating environemtn where children can play and have fun through learning. Staff help children practice existing skills and give them confidence to develop new ones.

Ballymoney and District Community playgroup look forward to welcoming children to the group in September 2011 and hope they have a wonderful time.
