A further operation in July 2012, in the Moyle area, resulted in 11 cars being detected as being unworthy for road use. Area Commander Chief Inspector Brenda Cairns said: “I stated in July that those intent on committing motoring offences would be apprehended, and this coupled with the successful operation in June re-affirms this point.

“The local community have voiced their concerns regarding motor vehicles unworthy for road use and police have listened. We are determined to make the Ballymoney and Moyle areas a safe place to live and work, and those involved in road traffic offences, careless/dangerous driving and in causing vehicle nuisance will be apprehended and recommended for prosecution.”
