Police warn of traffic disruption this Saturday

MOTORISTS and members of the public are being warned of widespread traffic disruption in Lisburn city centre this Saturday, May 21, due to a planned Freedom of the City parade for the Royal Irish Regiment.

Following the conferment ceremony the Regiment will parade through the City in the late afternoon. The Parade will depart Lagan Valley Island and march via Queens Road, Linenhall Street, Market Street, Market Square, Castle Street, Seymour Street and Queens Road before returning to Lagan Valley Island.

During the Parade the PSNI will temporarily close the roads and streets affected just before the parade commences; and they will remain closed to vehicles during this time.

Lisburn City Council would like to confirm that pedestrians and shoppers will be able to gain access to all these areas during the Parade.

It would like to welcome spectators to the streets of Lisburn to support its newest Freemen.

Temporary No Waiting restrictions will also be in force meaning that no on street car parking will be available on Saturday on any of the routes listed.
